Style: 1940's (Mens)

Suggested by: Tori suggested I do eras.

In this outfit:
  • Pants from the men's section of a thrift store. I actually got them for a costume I did for Emerald City Comicon.
  • White button down shirt. Bought in the men's section from a normal clothing store.
  • Goldenrod suspenders tat Tori found for me at a thrift store.
  • An old man tie that I found at a thrift store. It's one of a few that I will actually be sending to a friend because he complained when I sent him a clip on (long story)... hopefully he doesn't read this...
  • A binder (binds your chest to make it flat, and makes it easier to wear suspenders in my opinion).
  • Fedora (Trilby, actually, but I don't own an actual fedora sadly).
  • Coat from an estate sale.

My thoughts:
  • These pants are super comfy, and also slightly too big. It's a good thing I'm wearing suspenders!
  • This tie has grown on me, it's just funky enough.
  • This is very similar to my normal style, with the suspenders and a tie. I dress pretty masculinely quite often.
  • I would like to own a wide brimmed fedora someday.

The response:

  • One coworker thought I was a Spy, another thought I was a professor.
  • My dad said I looked like a hit-man, and suggested I take my lunch to work in a violin case.
  • My dad also suggested I get a hobby.
  • And made a joke about my gender.
  • Thanks dad.
  • A lady from a different department in my building asked where I got the pants, and if I did the hemming on them myself. She seemed to really like the outfit.
  • An elderly lady from church said I dress up nice :)
  • My grandma did not like this style. (Ah well, you can't win them all)
