Style: Medieval
Suggested by: Raina
In this outfit:
- Green velvet leggings from sales rack at Fred Meyers
- Shirt from dad's closet for my tunic
- Boots that belonged to my mom that she gave to me
- Chain mail from Amazon. My dad ordered it in the hopes that it would fit him (it's a 3X), but it didn't, so I ended up with it :)
My thoughts:
- The tunic and leggings are super comfy.
- The shoes need better insoles. the bottoms of the shoes are wood, and I only had insoles in the heels. My feet stayed pretty comfy, but the insoles slid around a bit.
- The chain mail is heavy after a while, and gets caught in my hair when I put it on. It also scratches up my arms and ears a bit if I take it on and off.
The response:
- Coworker G: You look cute
- Also Coworker G: You should get a sword and shield before you go fight a dragon!
- Coworker S: I kind of imagine you have a whole theater wardrobe somewhere.
- The lady down the hall at work: You look amazing today!
- Coworker C: Your boots make me think of Star Wars.
- Coworker B: You are entertaining, but a little eccentric.
- Also Coworker B: I'm really surprised how not weird the dress part looks, actually. I mean, you say "hey look at that lady wearing chain mail", and it invokes some images, but you actually pull it off really well.
- There's a whole department in my building that thought the chain mail and everything was great. They want me to come back every Friday to show off my various styles.
- Grandma: Liz! You look so cute! I think you've really found a good style for yourself
